Infrastructure Engineer Platform Team Mid Level Remote working within 90 mins travel of Carlisle.

My client is an established Financial Sector business who are undertaking a technology transformation that is part of a growth strategy. They have spent some time re-organising IT so that it has the baseline and structure to be successful, we are now looking for strong individuals to join the team.
This role is part of the Infrastructure Team (Platforms) - not service desk. We are looking for someone with mid-level experience working within a structured environment where the quality of delivery is a priority.
Test, Install, maintain, upgrade and continuously improve infrastructure hardware and software.
Ensuring software is kept up to date and aligned with software patching policy. Management of service desk requests.
Identify and manage risks.
Assist with project workstreams and BAU tasks where required.
Out of hours on-call for critical systems will be a requirement for this role in-line with the Working Practice Charter and will attract an additional allowance.
Flexible working hours due to system upgrades which are often performed outside of business working hours.
ITiL. v4 Foundation would be highly desirable.Training and relevant certification would be provided.

The business is delivering an ambitious growth plan that is underpinned by technology products, being part of that will be good for the successful candidates career.
The role is predominantly home based although you will need to travel to Carlisle for occasional meetings, this is estimated as two/three times per month. You will also be part of two rotas.
Day Site Rota 1 week in 7 when a member of the team needs to be on-site during the working day to deliver a hands-on task. This is very rare as there is already a fully staffed Service Desk Team on-site.
On-Call Rota 1 week in 5 to be called to site if required. On-Call allowance - £3.9% pension (4% contributory employer contributions increase with years of service)
