University Hospitals of Derby and Burton have an exciting position available for an MRI Superintendent Radiographer based at Royal Derby Hospital


The successful candidate will be responsible for the MRI Service within University Hospital of Derby and Burton(UHDB)


This is a full time post, however part-time may be considered for the right candidate. The job will suit a highly motivated experienced MRI Radiographer with a desire to lead a team of skilled staff.


This will be a rewarding but challenging role and will suit Radiographers with a desire to stretch their leadership skills and enhance their prospects for career progression.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day organisation, management and supervision of the MRI service at RDH, working alongside other MRI/CT superintendents and a multi-disciplinary team.


UHDB has 10 MRI scanners, at the Derby site there are 4 Philips 1.5TD-Hive mobile MRI unit that can be deployed at any site.


At Florence Nightingale Community Hospital (FNCH)there is a Philips 1.Currently under construction is an mobile van pad and welcome pod.


Ilkeston Community Hospital (ICH) is one of the CDC sites where there is aTrust mobile MRI Van which is a Philips 1.ICH is also the site for our first open MRI scanner a 0.As a trusted organisation at the heart of our communities, we recognise the important role we can play in supporting the public, patients, our own people and local partners in achieving the best of health for the local population and the communities in which they live by providing Exceptional Care Together

We are the 4 th busiest Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients department in England - an average of 2077 per week.
An average of 1115 patients are seen in A& Es across our network every day - 3rd largest in the country.
Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres.

MRI expert knowledge in core practice imaging examinations, underpinned by theory and experience
BSc Hons or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography
Leadership and/or communication training
PG Cert MRI

Substantial post registration practice, resulting in the broadening of expert knowledge and experience in MRI.
Experience and enthusiasm for training staff and students

Leadership skills supporting service delivery, guiding and leading junior staff to meet quality standards and targets
Ability to perform Basic and advanced MRI examinations to a high standard and act as a source of expertise for junior staff.
