Our client is a well-known law firm with a great reputation and an international reach. Within this particular role they are looking for a commercial property solicitor with an interest in acting for public sector clients. Not only is this work really stable irrespective of the economy or political winds ( in fact political change can create more work) but it also tends to appeal to people with a social conscious, those who want to undertake quality work that isn’t just about making rich people richer.

Whilst working within a specific sector the variety of work is huge. They undertake large scale development, handle acquisitions and disposals, restructure property portfolios and deal with general property management of significant portfolios. The team also handle some work for related private entities, whilst this a smaller part of what they do it adds to the variety and interest.

They are looking to grow their team; this is a newly created role for an experienced commercial property solicitor to join a Partner who leads this team. They work on a national basis and but are looking for someone to join and be the right hand person to the Partner in Leeds, someone who can take on substantive files themselves as well as assisting with the management of clients and also, in time, the support and development of more junior lawyers. You would be joining a team which works, and is spread across, the North of England and whilst there is flexible working, they are keen to recruit someone who doesn’t mind working across offices or travelling to see clients at different locations.

In addition to the above, they are very happy to speak to people who would like to get involved in the further development of clients. This isn’t a prerequisite and there definitely isn’t a requirement to bring commercial property work or clients.
