Role: 2x Product Support Engineer - industrial automation - PLC - SERVO DRIVES - MOTION CONTROL Level: Applications are welcome from engineers with experience in industrial automation and graduate engineers.
Gloucester + some remote work
Occasional international travel to support distributors (2 to 4 weeks per year).
** My client based in Gloucester are looking at hiring Product Support Engineers, this is a hands-on role
You will be front line with the clients and customers and running projects from concept to delivery.
You must have a technical understanding and a engineering background industrial automation - PLC - SERVO DRIVES - MOTION CONTROL - industrial & machinery automation and motion application & support.
Provision of technical support to existing customers via multiple media channels
Support and training of in-house and external applications engineers.
Production of technical documentation and communications
Responsibilities may require domestic and international travel
Training will be given in areas which are new to the applicant.
Experience using stand-alone automation systems; PLC or Motion Controller.
Knowledge of a programming language; for example C, BASIC, Python.
Programming with the standard IEC61131-3 languages.
Application and configuration of Industrial Robots.
Using real-time deterministic networks, e.g. Programming and configuration of touch-screen HMIs
Practical experience of electrical interfacing between devices in an automation system.
Training will be given in areas which are new to the applicant.
Degree or similar higher qualification in Software/Mechatronics/Electronics or related discipline.
Worked on interfacing automation hardware; Experienced in programming industrial automation / manufacturing machines
Implementing and commissioning stand-alone automation computers; PLC or Motion Controller.
Good knowledge of a high level programming language; for example C, BASIC, Python.
PLC programming, preferably using the standard IEC61131-3 environment.
Electrical interfacing between a controller and sensors/actuators in an automation system.
Ethernet networks, protocols and topology.
A working knowledge of PCs running Windows.
Basic level of Windows / Linux application programming.
Real-time deterministic networks, e.g. Application and configuration of Industrial Robots.
Programming and configuration of touch-screen HMIs
Applicants should be a team player and be able to communicate effectively in English.

A full driving licence is required and applicants must be eligible to obtain business visas for USA/Canada, China and India as some foreign travel may be necessary.
