Honorary Treasurer

We are seeking to appoint a new Honorary Treasurer at our 2024 Annual General Meeting. This is a critical role in the effective governance of our charity offering reassurance and guidance on all aspects of the charity’s financial management and reporting, controls, policies and risk management.

The Honorary Treasurer works closely with the Executive Director of Finance, People & Resources, overseeing budgets, accounts and the annual financial statements.

The Honorary Treasurer chairs the Chartered Institute’s Finance and Resources Committee which meets and least four times a year remotely and has delegated powers to act on behalf of the Board in matters relating to facilities, people and technology as well as finance.

The Treasurer will also be appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees. The CIOF has an active Board of Trustees which meets on a quarterly basis, both remotely and in person, to lead the organisation’s strategic planning and development. The Honorary Treasurer will be required to provide advice, assistance and information to the Board on their financial stewardship responsibilities.

This is a voluntary position (travel and subsistence expenses are paid).

We are planning a staged handover during the summer before appointment. During that time, the successful candidate will work with the Executive Director of Finance, Resources & People and outgoing Honorary Treasurer to obtain an overview of the role and responsibilities.
