Our Gleeds Leeds office has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager at Associate Director level to join the team. Gleeds have recently been appointed to provide project services for Wakefield. The contract is for a minimum of three years under a single supplier arrangement. The capital delivery team will lead on all projects with value of £250,000+ with a wide range of projects including new build projects across the portfolio of projects. The capital delivery team will provide the suite of professional services across all the RIBA stages for the client across a range of properties, including schools, leisure centres, office, civic, heritage, depots, industrial, parks and sustainability.
As a senior member of Gleeds, you will be reporting into the Project Management Director. You will be responsible for managing projects, customer relationships, and managing and coordinating the activities of other members of the Gleeds Programme and Project Management Team as appropriate. You will be responsible for delivery of projects and will manage the projects in accordance with the project controls and processes as set out by the Wakefield Programme Management Office (PMO). You will be client focused, a problem solver who will be senior point of contact for the Council at all levels.
Supporting Business Unit Directors in delivering business objectives.
Actively identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the Business Unit’s activities.
Delivering high quality services and deliverables ensuring that services meet our Customer’s requirements.
Managing teams to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures and RIBA stages of the projects.
Administering contracts as a contract administrator, employer’s agent or project manager.
Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or may arise, on projects; Actively identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the business units activities
Monthly internal project reviews.
Managing the project manager team to ensure communication and delivery meets the clients expectations.
Identify resourcing needs to the Account Lead.

Detailed knowledge and practiced experience of project management techniques
Comprehensive knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies
Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
Ability to administer construction contracts as Contract Administrator, Employer’s Agent and/or Project Manager
Ability to motivate others (including providing support and encouragement) and to lead high performance teams.
Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills
Sound ICT skills, with a high proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
