Are you an experienced HR professional who has exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills? We are looking for a Strategic People Partner (SPP) to join our People team at London Business School. This role is responsible for building relationships with School leaders to ensure people are at the forefront of organisational strategy and execution. As the SPP for a client group you would work to understand the department strategy and build a people plan to ensure it is enabled. You will help School leaders identify challenges, prioritise activity, design effective structures and shape behaviour which positively impacts our culture.
The SPP is a key member of the People Leadership Team that contributes to team cohesion, delivery, and growth. Main Responsibilities

  1. Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders at the School.
  2. Provide expert input across a range of people issues. Design and deliver high impact interventions which meet the goals of the department and School.
  3. Utilise coaching skills to build the capability of senior managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues.
  4. Working with leadership teams to improve employee engagement and retention.
  5. Play a significant role in driving the performance of each client area by contributing to key departmental functions such as senior leadership team meetings and town halls.
  6. Build people plans for each department to drive the achievement of department and School wide goals, ensuring that all planned people team activity is incorporated in the People plan.
  7. Proactively collaborate with all Centres of Expertise (COE) to shape and align activity, sharing your knowledge of your client groups needs and issues.
  8. Collaborate with Organisational Design (OD) Team to design, deliver and implement OD that ensures that accountability is clear, and roles and responsibilities are well defined. Share department knowledge of planned OD changes with the relevant COEs.
  9. Partner with the People Services team to manage complex ER cases.
  10. Using MI data, collaborate with the People Services team to develop action plans to address People issues/trends for business areas.
  11. Collaborate with the T&Ex team to promote and embed activity across the school proactively sharing specific department needs. Contribute to the planning of new initiatives and projects where needed.
  12. Partner with the TA team to deliver market insight and other relevant data to the Leadership teams so that they understand the role they need to play and the market which we are operating in.
Ideal Candidate
  1. Degree or other relevant HR qualification (CIPD)
  2. Exceptional relationship building, persuasion and influencing capability
  3. Resilient, driven self-starter who can lead by example
  4. Solution-focused, problem solver with excellent communication skills
  5. Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and open to change. Lead by example as a role model for school values, professional standards, and a sense of fun
  6. Proven track record in the delivery of people management initiatives linked to agreed plans
  7. A natural and purposeful collaborator who can work across teams (within the people team and across the School)
