CNC recruitment are working as a recruitment business for a highly reputable leader in distribution and manufacturing.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic Sawyer / Machine operative to join a family business, which treats staff as their biggest assett, the company reflect their core values throughout the business, offering a professional, pleasant working environment.

there is the opporutnity to train up on different machinery and work within a friendly team in South Petherton, Somerset. The Sawyer / Machine Operative is responsible for setting up and operating timber sawing machines and cutting European Oak to comply with customer orders, ensuring that the finished result is of the highest quality and always delivered on time.

Salary & Perks: Competitive Salary - based on experience.

Development within role.

Additional holiday bonus scheme after 5 years of service

Facilities: On-site parking and canteen.

Responsibilities:

* Operating and setting the following machines to ensure LM targets are achieved and the finished product achieves the correct quality: -

* Straight Line Edger

* Flexi- Rip

* Rack bench Bandsaw

* Working as part of a team to ensure the production flow is maintained, and daily production deadlines are met.

* Changing Blades.

* Routine cleaning & maintenance of the machines.

* Clearly and correctly tally sawn/machined timber onto production paperwork / system.

* Labelling and marking up finished product correctly.

* Other Sawmill / Production tasks as and when required.

Skills and Experience Required:

* Experience in timber handling / picking / carpentry / construction

* Candidate must show good knowledge of woodworking machinery and demonstrate their ability to operate such machinery.

* Experience in working in a timber sawmill, operating machinery, machining timber with a certificate, diploma, or degree qualification (preferred)*

* Forklift license (preferred, not essential - can provide training)

* Good Team Player, with a positive attitude

* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

* Focussed yet flexible approach - solution finder

* Keen attention to detail - to pick up on special order requirements and analysing products for quality and accuracy

* Ability to perform well in a time-pressured environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £(phone number removed)PH per hour

* Monday to Friday, 7AM-4PM
