Job Description

Are you ready to join a dynamic and innovative property development company committed to making a difference? Our client is on the lookout for a skilled and experienced Commercial Manager to join their growing team.

They are a fast-growing nationwide developer specialising in leveraging permitted development rights to transform neglected commercial buildings into sought-after residential developments across the UK.

The Role:

As a Commercial Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the efficient management of commercial resources within their Braintree offices. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the operations director in developing and managing the overall business plan.
  • Maximising financial returns on projects while identifying and minimising commercial business risks.
  • Reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions pre and post-tender award.
  • Managing commercial disputes and monitoring costs within budgetary constraints.
  • Responsible for commercial, legal, contractual, and non-operational aspects.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of commercial policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Maintaining the contract obligations register.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert by providing commercial support in day-to-day activities and contractual interpretation and guidance.

Requirements:

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying/Commercial/Financial Management background (Degree Ideal but not necessary).
  • Extensive understanding of contract administration and experience within a similar role is essential.
  • Ability to identify and manage non-operational contract obligations.
  • Experience of developing and delivering commercial policies and processes.
  • Excellent knowledge and application of contractual frameworks and law.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to react to changing deadlines with ease.
