Lead Mechanical Design Engineer/ Deputy Engineering Manager
A prestigious Avionics business with a legacy of excellence and innovation are currently in the market for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to lead their growing, dynamic design team and help drive their next phase of growth and development.. Key Responsibilities of a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer:
Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion.
Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs.
Mentor and guide a small team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Conduct thorough feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts.
Create comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using advanced CAD software.
Oversee the prototyping, testing, and iteration processes, ensuring designs meet stringent performance and safety standards.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in avionics and mechanical design, integrating best practices into the team’s workflow.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly within the avionics industry- but not essential.
Proven track record of leading design projects from initial concept through to final delivery.
Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
Excellent understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes relevant to avionics.
