N-able in Edinburgh is looking to hire a DevOps Engineer who will play a meaningful part in supporting the 24x7 availability and ongoing growth of our service offerings. You will possess a high degree of technical skill, have a collaborative approach to problem-solving, and understand the importance of creating and maintaining highly available infrastructure at scale and the importance of following security best practices.
What You'll Do
- Support automation and orchestration capabilities that allow us to operate at scale, including building and running our infrastructure and product code bases
- Participate in delivering new service offerings, and collaborate with development teams to deliver low latency, high performance, highly available applications
- Support 24x7 availability of our customer-facing services as part of an on-call rota .
- Support incident management process
- Implement internal services, tools, modules, and applications to improve software development and operations engineers' quality of life
- Create monitoring and alerting that will give us visibility into occurring issues
- Work cross-functionally with Support, Product, Architecture, and Engineering to provide support and assistance
- Support enterprise compliance initiatives
What You'll Bring
- Basic knowledge of HA solutions and a g ood understanding of Cloud Service Providers' foundational services. (EC2, R53, etc..)
- Experienced with orchestration and automation tools. We predominantly use Kubernetes and Terraform but recognize the transferability of concepts across another tooling
- Scripting and systems-related programming skills (Python, Bash)
- Experience with relational databases
- Good understanding of Security Best Practices and b asic knowledge of supported products as a user
- Experienced in Linux or Windows system administration and an expe rienced technical troubleshooter
- Knowledge of Splunk and logging solutions and s easoned in Agile concepts and SCRUM
- Relevant experience in a medium to the large enterprise environment
