The post is of principal lecturer with the role of MA Education Programme Lead.
The successful candidate will, in liaison with the Senior team, provide academic leadership of the MA Education programme and related postgraduate qualifications. The postholder will provide guidance, direction, and leadership to a team of colleagues and assume responsibility for quality standards and the enhancement of learning, teaching and assessment, and the overall academic experience of students. You will also be responsible for the ongoing development and refinement of the MA Education programme and will support the growth of the department. You may be asked to line manage staff within the Schools and will be expected to develop and teach innovative, engaging and research-informed modules.
You will work co-operatively and supportively as part of the Schools’ teaching team, including off-campus student outreach and other recruitment activities such as open days where required. You will also work closely with the Associate Deans, Head of Department, and Programme Leaders in order to continue the growth of the department and the development of the Schools’ teaching and learning initiatives and ensure the currency and innovative nature of the curriculum.
You will have teaching experience at primary, secondary, or tertiary level in Education, experience of teaching at postgraduate level would be an advantage. Ideally you would also be able to offer experience of teaching in other areas of education. You will possess the ability to use technology to enhance the quality and flexibility of delivery to students. Proficiency in English language is critical, with good self-management and time management skills and excellent written and oral communication skills. A solution focused approach towards work and the work of the Schools within a business-facing University, and a commitment to the ongoing development of teaching and learning skills will be evident from your application.
You will hold honours degree (or equivalent) in related discipline and a master's degree in education or equivalent level professional qualification. An appointment to this role may require an Academic Technology Approval Scheme (ATAS) certificate.
