Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing, Wokingham Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate £351.15 which is negotiable dependent upon experience.

We are looking for a Strategy and Commissioning Officer this role will be Based RG401WH (Hybrid)

The right candidate will:

* You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and vision of Children’s Services in Wokingham by overseeing the development and implementation of effective strategies and policies. The primary responsibility will be to analyse complex issues, provide strategic advice, and develop policy recommendations to support our objectives.

* To develop and maintain positive relationships with senior officers across children services, our strategic partners, and elected Members.

* Support the development of strategy and policy informed by research, data analysis and undertaking consultation with stakeholders including the public and partners, and sign-off through formal governance processes.

* Providing specialist advice and input to the development and delivery of policy, including the updating of thresholds, rules, scripts, developing best practice and contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery, working with other specialist areas to ensure a collaborative approach within adult social care.

The post holder will take accountability for the timely delivery of a suite of strategies, including.

* A Local Early Help and Prevention Strategy

* A local Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service strategy

* A local sufficiency statement and action plan

* A local Looked After and Care Leavers Strategy

We require the following:

* Experience of writing strategies in Children’s Services (Specifically Early Intervention, Emotional Wellbeing, Sufficiency Statement, Children in Care and Care Leavers)

* Completing NEEDS Assessments

* Engaging with a range of stakeholders

* Experience in the role elsewhere

* Degree-level, equivalent relevant professional qualifications or expertise.

* Effective strategy and report writing skills, able to make recommendations for decision making.

* Delivering high quality planning, commissioning, and improvement processes to drive change, innovation and excellence in social care commissioning in line with national and local priorities.
