The Digital Data and Technology (DDaT) Directorate is responsible for creating a cutting-edge technology and information environment that connects, empowers, and enhances our officers’ crime fighting capabilities.
We are responsible for defining and delivering our data and technology strategy, policy, and architecture, building and sustaining resilient services which are critical to our mission success. We work closely with our operational teams to help them do their job in the most effective and efficient way, understanding their challenges and combining this with emerging technologies/techniques to obtain and exploit data in innovative ways to ensure we stay ahead of the criminals who are committing some of most serious crimes and inflicting harm to our society.
The role sits within the NCA Enterprise Services Department within the Digital, Data & Technology (DDaT) Directorate. The DDaT Service Performance team operate nationally over a number of sites, and work closely as a relatively small but very influential unit. Leadership activity will range from involvement in assessing the financial impact of new large scale procurements and change programmes, through to reporting on performance target progress to Board level and also running stakeholder groups to look at pipeline activity and ensure appropriate planning and governance is in place to manage expenditure for the priority IT services for the Agency.
As Senior Manager – DDaT Financial & Performance Management, you will be responsible for:
Operating as part of the Service Performance team within DDaT Enterprise Services (ES), covering all live NCA technology services.
The Financial Performance team manage budgets exceeding c£90m annually and the associated controls, assurance and planning functions across other technology spend that could affect Enterprise Services (e.g. the financial impact of change programmes and investment in new tech capabilities).
The role involves ensuring that appropriate controls are in place as well as leading on reviews as leading on stakeholder engagement as the ES Finance lead across the Agency e.g. reviewing pipeline demand, assessing the impact on ES of Change activities and reviewing new procurement requests to help ensure sufficient funding is in place to maintain services.
Finally, the role involves leading the development of the IT service performance model that will link financial and service activity with strategic priorities and investments.
