To provide a qualified specialist clinical psychology service to clients of the Mother and Baby Unit providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy offering advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team/service. To undertake a personal research and development programme and develop and encourage a research culture within the clinical team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder would be responsible for providing a qualified Specialist Clinical Psychology Service to clients of the Mother and Baby Unit in Winchester. Within this post the you will work alongside the ward's Senior Psychologist to provide specialist evidence based psychological assessment and therapy individually and in groups as well as offer advice, consultation, and training to staff in the team. The ward has a well established group therapy programme, which the post holder will be expected to support alongside the nursing team. Evaluation of interventions and measuring the impact of the service is an important component of the role. You will be joining the well-established SHFT Perinatal Mental Health Team, which is a thriving, research active team. The post holder will be line managed and clinically supervised by the Senior Clinical Psychologist on the MBU. Joining our Perinatal Psychology Service offers the opportunity to develop your skills in psychological interventions specifically within the perinatal period. You will be part of a supportive team of psychologist and psychologist therapists, with a clear supervision structure and opportunities for development of specialist interests. We are looking for someone with a passion for working in a recovery-orientated framework within the Perinatal Period. An interest in systemic, attachment work and mother/infant interactions is desirable.

Essential


  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
  • Registered with Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Psychologist
