Donald Russell is a quality food business with a rich heritage in butchery based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. With three key arms to our business, we have been supplying hotel and restaurants groups in the UK since 1974 including Malmaison, Hotel Du Vin, 63 rd , La Relais de Venise and The Goring to name a few. Our trade export arm exports to markets around the world including Europe and Asia, and we have been selling direct to consumers via our website and contact centre for almost 30 years.

Our HR function is a critical part of our business. Reporting into our Head of People & Culture, the People & Culture Advisor is a valued and important part of our management team.
The People & Culture Advisor will provide generalist HR support service to all Donald Russell Departments, supporting approximately 170 colleagues and line managers to achieve the company objectives, contributing to the development of our culture and colleague engagement across the business. This is a wide and varied role where no two days are ever the same and being part of a small team, the People & Culture Advisor has a great opportunity to make a real impact on the business and our employee experience.
Daily administrative tasks associated with the employee life cycle, including recruitment and onboarding activities, changes to T&Cs, payroll, meeting notes and offboarding.
Advising managers on the effective application of employment law and our policies and procedures, treating colleagues fairly, in line with good practice and legislative requirements whilst meeting business needs.
Ensuring the monthly payroll changes for employees are accurately captured.
Help identify staff development and training needs, sourcing and booking appropriate courses and providers and administering our learning and development online platform.
Active engagement with local schools, colleges and universities to promote Donald Russell and the food and drink sector.
Experience working in the field of HR, or alternatively good experience working in, recruitment, payroll, or benefits.
