We are looking for Relief Support Worker to join our Service based in Bexhill, East Sussex on a Relief basis.
As a Relief Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings, evenings, sleep ins and weekends (You will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £61.20 for any sleep in shifts carried out. The best thing about flexibility It's a two-way street, while we may require that you work a variety of shifts, we also understand that you’ll have your own commitments and we will try to factor this into our rotas.
What does a Relief Support Worker do?
As a Relief Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Relationship building - supporting the people we support to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
Community & Social Inclusion - supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.Mencap is a leader in providing excellent support to people with a learning disability.
