Autodiscovery is a field robotics system integrator working on embodied intelligence. We are creating the next generation AGI that lives inside robots in the real world.

Autodiscovery is the UK supplier for AgileX robots and offering integration and deployment of these robust cost effective platforms. These robots are used for many dangerous, dirty and demanding tasks in many industries from agriculture to nuclear energy.

Autodiscovery is the UK supplier for Unitree H1 and future humanoid robots and leading the way in humanoid robotics.

We want to create positive change and are leaders in robot enabled climate action. We believe robotics and automation will only benefit humanity if it is affordable and accessible by everyone.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Robotics Software Engineer. The Robotics Software Engineer will be responsible for developing software for robotic systems, creating algorithms to improve robot performance, and conducting hardware/software integration. This role is located in Oxford and allows for flexible remote work. These devices are made for real world, real problems, real customers and benefits for all. We are are for-profit company but with strong ethics and willingness to share, open source and work with the community.

Qualifications

We are mainly looking for robotics software engineers with 3 years of industry experience or more, but if you are very passionate about this role and willing to learn please also apply.

  • Excited about robots are software deployed in real world problems
  • Likes to write code
  • Comfortable and experienced in ROS 2 or similar framework
  • Willingness to self organise and self motivate to reach project goals
  • Comfortable in Linux based OS, networking, remote access
  • Willingness to host a robot at remote location in case of remote work or be very comfortable at remote deployment and testing

  • We won't ask you to manage projects or people unless you want to. This will not limit your career and pay progression
  • We won't ask you to take part in business development unless you want to
  • We want you to spend time creating and writing code and minimise unnecessarily management and meetings but making sure support is there if you need it
  • We evaluate your performance based on results, not time spent doing a task.
  • We pay fairly for overtime and field work and travel

We pay our workers well. No unnecessary perks, just good pay.

We are a young and small company in difficult economic environment, please keep in mind there is always some risk from unforeseen events, and this job may not be as safe as in a large and established corporation.
