Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer specializing in valve design for large-scale industrial projects, including power generation facilities.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer - Valves:
  1. Lead valve design projects, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards.
  2. Develop and refine technical specifications for valve systems, incorporating latest industry practices and regulatory requirements.
  3. Perform detailed engineering analyses to optimize valve functionality, safety, and reliability.
  4. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration for the integration of valve solutions within complex system designs.
  5. Oversee technical documentation and approval processes for valve designs, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  6. Engage in problem-solving for valve-related technical challenges, providing expert insights and innovative solutions.
Qualifications

Essential:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in the design and engineering of valves for large industrial or power generation projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to valve design and simulation.
  • Familiarity with international standards and regulations governing valve design.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Desired:

  • A Master's degree is preferred, but by no means essential
  • A background in the nuclear sector, ideally EPR/PWR technology
  • Sound understanding of nuclear processing regulations
  • Experience of equipment supply contracts and contract forms such as NEC/FIDIC
