An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Team Manager to work on a full-time permanent basis managing the North Community Mental Health team based at Huntington House for the population of the North Area of the City and its surrounding areas.
The team operates across the North of the city of York and its surrounding areas based at Huntington House, Huntington and aims to meet the needs of the local population who present with complex mental health needs. We are looking to appoint an existing team manager or from experienced practitioners looking to expand their professional development in operational team management.
The successful candidate with the support of their leadership team will improve the lives of people with mental ill health through effective leadership, management and service development to enable the delivery of excellent services to promote recovery and well-being for all service users.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering excellent mental health services and can support and enable the team to achieve their potential. Key responsibilities will include supervision and appraisal for the team, performance including key performance indicators, recruitment and management of staff, ensuring that people have timely access to our services and receive treatment in line with our pathways. You will need to have excellent relationship building and engagement skills and be capable of managing varied work demands based on the changing needs of the service. You will understand and embrace the challenge of delivering a service which is both high in quality, efficiency and sustainability.

Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work or relevant professional clinical qualification (ie PWP/CWP in IAPT/Getting Help services)
Have equivalent clinical experience to that of masters level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area with significant experience - which also includes significant experience of managing people (see below under experience), together with evidence of CPD
Significant experience of working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field and working with patients who display risk behaviours
Working knowledge of the legal framework and statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and other relevant legislation
Risk assessment and management and its application in practice and Working knowledge of clinical medicines management
Evidence of training in Quality Improvement methodology or coaching, and/or using.
Significant evidenced based knowledge, to post-graduate level, of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field
Detailed understanding of Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
