LifeScan is headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania and has a 31,600 square-metre state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility in Inverness, Scotland. We have a great opportunity for a Head of Global Procurement. This role can be undertaken on a remote basis within the UK.
The Global Head of Procurement will be responsible for leading key supplier contract negotiation & delivering robust contracts. The individual will help deliver YoY cost reduction by creating and deploying a healthy ongoing savings pipeline strategy.
You will ensure flawless Supply Reliability through active risk mitigation strategies, as well as sustain advantage through Quality and Compliance. They will also oversee the negotiation & delivery of robust contracts across the LifeScan organisation.
You will drive the procurement of materials and services in alignment with business Leadership as per the Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. The successful candidate will have Category/Commodity responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve the lowest total cost, reduced working capital via negotiation planning and execution, and high growth region sourcing. You will manage Supplier Performance to support the organization and ensure supply continuity. You will also manage multiple projects in a dynamic global environment and ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures and Export / Import regulations.
You will be responsible for developing a plan to transform the internal LifeScan procurement organisation to provide high-value strategic activities while managing an external partnership to carry out high-volume transactional activities. You will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and be located in the UK.
Leading key supplier contract negotiation & deliver robust contracts
Managing the day-to-day activities of the procurement team
Developing KPIs for which the global procurement team will be evaluated
Prioritising areas of focus for the Global Procurement team
Ensuring flawless Supply Reliability through an active risk mitigation strategy
Recommending a new, more optimal Procurement model for LifeScan
Evaluating the current Procurement team’s fit with the new operating model
You will have proven experience in Supply Chain management (procurement, sourcing, and vendor management), together with outstanding procurement leadership skills such as high-level negotiation, creation, and analysis of bid packages.
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Engineering or Business Management report and/or Master’s degree is preferred.
Procurement certification (CPM, CPSM, CM, or CTPE designation) is also preferred.
Strong Negotiations skills - Broad experience at the Executive level in major contract negotiations
Excellent Knowledge and experience in using JDE, Oracle, or similar operating systems
Experience in providing oversight for supplier selection and performance. Broad category experience in Electronics, External Manufacturing, and medical devices
Detail-oriented project management skills and timely follow-through to meet deadlines
High Emotional Intelligence with an ability to work with multi-cultural teams
Able to recognise and welcome diversity
