“The Gwent Helping End Homelessness Project (BOOST Building On Our Strengths Together) is a five year project supported by the National Lottery Community fund”.

Salary : £25,000 rising to £25,500 after 6 months completed service.

Hours : 35

Fixed Term Contract end August 2026

Agile working: enabling staff members to have flexibility around where, when and how someone works to optimise performance, maximise outcomes and do their best work

Successful applicant will be required to work some evenings and weekends to support the needs of the service. All staff must work flexibly on occasions to meet the needs of women and children.

Compulsory participation in the 3rd Tier out of hours on-call rota.

Location : Gwent

We offer a range of services throughout Gwent that encompass prevention, awareness-raising, safety, support and personal development opportunities for women and their children who have experienced violence against women, domestic abuse and/or sexual violence (VAWDASV).

About the role

Our cultural vision is one of developing and maximising our people’s potential.

The Boost project team leader will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the project and support of the peer advisors and placements. They will also ensure the project meets its targets and outcomes whilst supporting peers and the partner organisations associated with the project as the first point of contact. 

About you

You will be resilient and robust with the ability to build trust and relationships with vulnerable people easily. You will have an understanding and an empathetic personality, which will assist your approach when providing practical and emotional support to people via a range of methods. You will enjoy variety and change with the ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative, although supported by a three tiered on-call system. You will be open minded, non-judgemental, enjoy working with different backgrounds/cultures and understand the complexity of VAWDASV. 

You will have an approach that fosters empowerment and personal growth. You will understand the challenges of providing critical services to vulnerable people, and ideally have experience within the Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse & Sexual Violence sector.
