Job Overview: The Senior Observability Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, and management of our monitoring platforms, with a focus on Grafana Cloud. This role requires a strategic thinker who can automate exporter configuration and deployment, integrate identity access management with Grafana through Okta, and ensure comprehensive network monitoring across various targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a robust platform architecture using Grafana Cloud as the platform of choice.
  • Develop and maintain an automated strategy for exporter config/deployment to streamline software deployment processes.
  • Integrate Identity Access Management with Grafana, synchronizing RBAC groups through Okta integration.
  • Monitor office and datacenter networks, including wired, wireless, switching, routing, Firewall, and power systems.
  • Oversee WAN/ISP network monitoring, including P2P links, DIA, and direct cloud connections.
  • Manage network monitoring for Zscalar, focusing on CPU, memory, disk, data throughput, and source port consumption.
  • Monitor power PDUs, including battery health, power consumption, and voltage, ensuring minimal downtime.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in observability and monitoring platforms, particularly Grafana Cloud.
  • Strong background in automated software deployment and configuration management.
  • Experience with identity access management and integration, preferably with Okta.
  • In-depth knowledge of network monitoring, including office, datacenter, and WAN/ISP networks.
  • Familiarity with power management and monitoring systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in observability, cloud platforms, or network monitoring are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a similar role.

Work Environment: This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and is remote at the moment.
