We are seeking to appoint an energetic, passionate and hardworking Pastoral Manager to meet the needs of the College. The post is a maternity cover, term time only.

St Edward’s College is a Catholic College educating 11-18 year olds in the heart of Liverpool. Because of its track record of academic success, nurture and enrichment of the whole student the school is extremely popular and oversubscribed, with 900 applications for the 174 places in Year 7. We have very close links to the community including a partnership with our co-located primary school to form the Cathedral Choir School for the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. Our offer of extra-curricular activities ranges from music, drama and a wide range of sports to academic clubs such as mathematics and sciences which have been successful in national competitions. Our success in these areas is bolstered by our excellent sports facilities which include our own indoor swimming pool. Our thriving Sixth Form of over 300 students is one of the largest in the city and is enhanced by the Honours Programme which targets Oxbridge and the Russell group universities.

We are looking for a Pastoral Manager who will have the time, funding, training, resources, status, support and authority within the school to carry out the duties of the post including committing resources, and where appropriate, supporting and directing other staff to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Support the DSL and pastoral team in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact. To be available, in the absence of the DSL, for staff to discuss any safeguarding concerns during term time and to support the arrangement of adequate and appropriate cover for out of hours/out of term time activities. The Pastoral Manager will support the DSL to address all identified training needs relating to safeguarding. In agreement with the Principal the Pastoral Manager will deputise in the absence of the DSL and support the DSL in Managing Referrals Support the DSL by Raising Awareness Support the DSL by Preventing Radicalisation, assessing risk Safer Recruitment Audits, evidence and reporting Pupil Outcomes.
