Blackpool Teaching Hospitals are looking for highly motivated and committed Band 5 Staff Nurses to work across the Acute Frailty Unit at the Victoria Hospital Site, we are keen to welcome nurses with a passion for this specialty. We require enthusiastic individuals with a can do attitude that have the ability to work within our friendly ward teams and Acute Frailty Unit. The nursing staff work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team and pride themselves on delivering a high standard of care and effective discharge planning.
Maintain high standards of nursing care and be personally accountable for professional and ethical actions, within the N.Give and promote Health Promotion Education, particularly around the specific speciality to the patient and carer in order to promote wellbeing and prevent further unnecessary hospital admissions. Ensure a high quality service is maintained by implementing Trust Clinical Governance Plans. Works as a member of the Multidisciplinary Team, and in conjunction with these other professionals promote a holistic model of care. Maintain contemporaneous and accurate written and/or electronic records ensuring all legal requirements are met. Commitment to undertake ongoing in-service training and development is essential. There is opportunity for further development within the fields of acute medicine and care of the older person through a variety of in-house training and university links.

The successful candidate will have a genuine desire to become part of this team and care for the older person and their family. They will demonstrate excellent communication skills and act as role model to the rest of the team and the nursing students who are frequently placed on the ward
