What we need
We’re looking for a Financial Controller responsible for leading a team of 12 talented finance professionals globally across the Company’s accounting and finance operations. This role will ensure the Management accounts, AP and AR functions operate effectively across this fast-growing Group. In order to succeed in this role the candidate will need to have previous experience managing these teams at a multi-currency, multi-entity company and will be extremely diligent, proactive, and organised.
Accounting and finance operations
- Ensure all financial policies are understood and followed by the team
- Deliver monthly consolidated group accounts to month-end timetable including review of p&l and balance sheet variances
- Review all balance sheets and payroll reconciliation prepared by the team
- Effective working capital management with optimised credit control and approval of bi-monthly payment runs
- Review all intra & intercompany reconciliations and recharges
- Short and long-term cash flow forecasting and analysis
Reporting and audit
- Maintain an appropriate control and compliance environment to effectively manage risk to financial information and infrastructure
- Supervise the production of accounts and reports by the management accounts team
- Review Group and subsidiary company financial statements
- Oversee interim and annual audits to agreed deadlines with Consolidated financial statement finalised within two months of year-end
Tax
- Support team alongside external tax advisors to ensure adherence with all local tax regulations as well as effective group tax planning
- Review all local sales tax returns and exposures
- Review year-end corporation tax packs for all companies
Other
- Manage, motivate and coach the team
- Monitor team deliverables and interactions with FP&A and across all business functions
- Drive process and system improvements for control and efficiency gains
- Work alongside Legal to manage trading windows for employee growth share scheme
- Support the CFO and VP of Corporate Development on adhoc corporate projects
Experience
- Chartered accountant with 10+ years’ relevant experience
- Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS and US GAAP
- High level of attention to detail and ability to manage to tight deadlines
- Experience with NetSuite would be preferable
- Extensive excel skills
- Ability to provide meaningful management accounting reports and analysis
- Ability to prepare financial statements
- Effective communicator with excellent problem-solving capabilities
