This job description sets out the key responsibilities and duties for the role of Financial Controller. The duties and responsibilities are meant to provide guidance as to the nature and scope of the role. They are, however, not meant to be prescriptive. Additional extra or supplemental duties may be required to facilitate the needs of the business or assist during busy periods. This job description will be reviewed on an annual basis to establish whether the nature of the role has changed and the extent of that change (if any).

This is a new role, and you will be an integral part of how it is scoped and developed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Managing the Finance department to ensure that the ledgers are accurate, timely and comply with all relevant accounting standards and policies.
  • Coordinate preparation of financial forecasts and budgets
  • Present monthly statements which identify results, trends, and forecasted performance
  • Manage working capital and cash flow to ensure liquidity of the business.
  • Ensure all statutory reporting requirements are met.
  • Ensure new structure is reported properly.
  • Overseeing the audit process to ensure statutory accounts are submitted in a timely manner.
  • Develop into key advisor to MD.
Requirements
  • Chartered Accountant
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Effective management of department and colleagues
  • Excellent IT proficiency across all systems in the business
  • Ability to design, implement and review controls across the business, including systems.
  • Positive contribution to improving the performance of the finance department.
  • Willingness to expand experience and skills within the business.
