J A Kemp LLP, Trainee Patent Attorney Open Day (July & September 2024) J A Kemp will be hosting open days in July and September 2024 at our London office.
The deadline for applications is Sunday 19th May 2024.
Our open days aim to give students a unique insight into the patent profession.
During the course of the day, you will hear from trainees, associates and partners about working with patents. The day will involve introductory talks, skills sessions, and lots of opportunities to chat with various people from across the firm in a relaxed setting.
Although our open days will take place in our London office, we recruit into our London, Oxford and Cambridge offices and we will have representatives at the open day from each of our offices. Training as a Patent Attorney is a career path that will enable you to combine your understanding of science with legal expertise. You will leave the lab environment yet remain at the cutting edge of science and technology, applying your knowledge and skill in a commercial context. You will help to protect intellectual property assets and grow businesses.
J A Kemp’s patent attorneys handle patent applications in the UK, Europe and worldwide. The firm has particular expertise in patent oppositions and appeals, especially before the European Patent Office. J A Kemp works for a wide variety of clients, from startups, spinouts and SMEs through to some of the largest corporate clients and most prestigious academic institutions in the world.
We offer a programme of training to take you right through to qualification as a patent attorney (European and UK Chartered). We support you with one to one mentoring, external courses, internal tutorials and on-the-job training.
Applications are open to students who have completed or are currently studying for a degree in a STEM subject.
