Are you interested in shaping the future of movies and television? Prime Video is a premium streaming service that offers customers a vast collection of TV shows and movies - all with the ease of finding what they love to watch in one place. We offer customers thousands of popular movies and TV shows from Originals and Exclusive content to exciting live sports events. We also offer our members the opportunity to subscribe to add-on channels which they can cancel at anytime and to rent or buy new release movies and TV box sets on the Prime Video Store. Prime Video is a fast-paced, growth business - available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to join the Prime Video Ports (PVP) team. The PVP team owns the Prime Video app on hundreds of high-profile Living Room devices, such as PS5, Xbox and Android TVs. We are looking for a polyglot experienced software engineer who is excited by the challenge of working across multiple tech-stacks and languages including Kotlin/Java, C++, and TypeScript.
Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software.
- You will work as the tech lead for one of our small Agile teams, launching and growing new initiatives for Amazon's global business. As an engineer, you can be involved in every aspect of the process - from idea generation, business analysis and technical design through to development and deployment across a variety of technologies - giving you a real sense of ownership. Together we build systems which meet high standards of performance and reliability and operate at massive scale.
Every other Friday, the team has a "Learn and Be Curious day" where you have the chance to work on your own project to stretch your skills and expand your knowledge, whether that’s learning the latest AWS tech, building a new front-end feature or anything in-between.
Experience in professional, non-internship software development
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
