Sr. Infrastructure Engineer
A thriving cloud technology company who mainly operate withing the defence sector, are on hunt for Sr. Infrastrcture Engineer to join them on permanent basis based in Stoke-on-Trent (Hybrid Working). Please note that due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must be eligible for SC Clearance. THE ROLE This role suits to a skilled and customer-focused Infra Engineer who can. Deploy configure and maintain scalable and secure IT infrastructure including servers, application servers, storage and virtualisation technologies.Production of high quality LLD/Build documentation detailing configurations and processes.
Implement security best practices and protocols to protect the company's data and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and deploy solutions.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Support the design of new solutions using technical knowledge to assess requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions in coordination with stakeholders. SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proven relevant experience in a senior infrastructure engineering role.
Strong technical proficiency in deploying Dell VxRail architecture, features, and capabilities, including software-defined storage, virtualization, and compute resources.
Experience with VMware vSphere and vSAN technologies, including installation, configuration, and management.
Be competent in the configuration and deployment of a variety of windows servers/applications.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
Ability to deploy and maintain scalable and secure database solutions using SQL server.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
