More than one in ten in the UK are members of Nationwide – how will you help grow our membership further? The Originations team at Nationwide makes it easy for applicants to open new bank accounts, savings accounts or take out loans. We’re looking for a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to help this team securely link their systems to our core banking and identity applications.
As our lead for the Originations DevSecOps team, you’ll have previously met the challenges managing secure Kubernetes clusters using EKS on AWS. We need help, too, as we move to Dynatrace for our observability. And there’ll be more exciting technology coming around the corner: what will you help us decide to use?

You’ll help us make sure these systems are resilient and fast; At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. Kubernetes: good working experience of how it works. Integration patterns: in particular, using Istio to simplify and speed configuration
Consulting and teaching: you’ll help our teams to do as much themselves as they can, so they can build and run their own systems using the infrastructure your team provides
Planning: you’ll take a realistic view of risk and combine this with technical acumen to create and execute realistic plans, typically for a year ahead
It’s also about being clear, precise, and using language that we and, importantly, our customers and members can understand.
