An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join our Hs2 team in the Midlands. To be considered, you will come from a Construction or Civil Engineering background and have been in the role of a Senior Engineer with FRC experience a priority.
Reporting to the Site Agent, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for the managing the engineering on a project, ensuring works are constructed to the contract drawings, specifications, procedures, and plans, whilst managing site and trainee engineers.
Previous experience as Senior Engineer (or similar) for civil engineering contractor
* Experience in reinforced concrete structures - heavy civils - bridges / structures / basements / tunnels / culverts / frames / tanks / formwork / falsework systems
* Strong knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering / specification for highway works
* Use of Fieldview / Dalux (or similar) web and mobile BIM software
* Proficiency in design software, such as AutoCad / Autodesk / Sketchup (desirable)
Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
* IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS
* Valid CSCS card
* You hold a Full UK driving licence
Writing/Checking RAMS and TBS, communicating to workforce and monitoring compliance
* To establish and implement site systems and controls consistent with Galldris company standards and project requirements including health, safety and quality systems and project engineering standards
* Check Permits issued by the Principal Contractor and ensure they are received in a timely manner for works to proceed
Permanent Design - Familiarising yourself with the design drawings, specifications and setting out requirements and ensure accurate construction in accordance with requirements
* Temporary Works Design - In liaison with TWC, identify temporary works requirements, produce design briefs, and understand and communicate temporary works designs to site team and monitor installation to ensure compliance
* TQs - Highlight issues and raise queries from review of drawings and specifications and from site inspections, and raise with relevant party, drawing sketches where required
Quality Management
* ITPs - Writing/checking ITPs, communicating to workforce and checking the process is being followed
* QA Records - Keeping organised and accurate QA records in accordance with ITPs and project requirements
* Quality Handover Documentation - Collating information in accordance with ITPs and handover requirements
* Quality Readiness Reviews - lead on readiness reviews whilst capturing lessons learnt / improvements
