Purpose of role:
To have responsibility for the quality of provision and quality improvement within the area of responsibility. To develop, implement and manage for monitoring and implementing compliance. To maintain and improve Pathways OFSTED grade, quality certification and direct claim status.
The Head of Quality & Compliance will lead in managing and monitoring the delivery of high-quality learning and qualifications to learners and provide robust IQA processes for Apprenticeship, Advanced Learner Loans, Adult Education and Skills.
Additionally, you will be responsible for managing operational relationships with internal and external auditors, ensuring that processes to secure operational, funding, and legislative compliance are in place across the business, and for working with other business areas to develop innovative solutions to manage risk and compliance across the business.
​JOB SUMMARY
* To be the lead nominee for all OFSTED inspections
* Maximise Learner progress and chase progression, through the robust and efficient implementation of Quality Improvement Initiatives across the Group.
* Be a role model and beacon for achieving Outstanding learning, teaching and assessment.
* Maintain a positive culture that embeds the company values and beliefs.
* Ensure that students and staff feel safe, valued and supported.
* Actively promote the embedding of British Values, Equality & Diversity and Health and Safety.
* Represent the Quality Department and Pathway Group to external bodies, Awarding Body(s) and Partners
* To be the lead and “go to” person and key driver in all aspects relating to apprenticeships, Learner Loans and AEB with an expert up to date working knowledge of legislation and other funding related guidance, industry best practice and latest Ofsted trends to disseminate internally.
* Demonstrate expertise in delivering high-quality assurance and compliance engagements, along with an expert understanding of interpreting various funding rules during external audits.
* Develop and deliver an annual program of assurance engagements (and, where necessary, investigations) to ensure compliance with prevailing regulations & legislations across the business.
* Oversee and support the development and delivery of a program of internal compliance testing, providing timely and meaningful information to the Senior Leadership Team.
* Provide operational management for audits, inspections, and reporting to all relevant external agencies and stakeholders.
* Ensure teams are supported to maximise effectiveness.
* Develop plans, policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
* Undertake Observations and Assessment of areas within scope.
* Lead, manage, monitor and review the implementation of the Quality Strategy, Quality & Governance Framework and Quality Improvement Plans.
* Manage and where required internally verify all qualifications within the scope of area of responsibility.
* Prepare sampling plans for internal verification.
* Set up, prepare and minute standardisation meetings per quarter within the scope of area of responsibility.
* Monitor and deal with any action points from External Verification visits.
* Ensure qualification units chosen meet the full qualification.
* Ensure all programmes delivered are ALL catalogue compliant.
* Ensure that all assessors/trainers/tutors meet minimum requirements for vocational competence, CVs, Certificates and on-going CPD.
* Confirm Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans meet the requirements of the awarding body and funding guidelines for each component of the learner’s journey.
* Working with the appropriate curriculum areas, develop Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans, where required, to improve the overall quality of provision for the department.
* Support the team of assessors/trainers to achieve timely success rates with their learners.
* Check the learner’s plan of individual training needs has been adhered to.
* Responsible for monitoring and tracking the assessment and verification procedure.
* Participate in course evaluation, quality assurance and self-assessment systems
