Job Overview

Are you a highly experienced modelling engineer with a deep understanding of System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies and architecture? Do you have a passion for improving software models, enhancing scalability, and driving technical innovation?

The Arm Software (CE-SW) group enables partners to develop software on Arm-based systems across diverse domains, including Automotive, IoT, Client, and Infrastructure. The Fast Models team within CE-SW develops software models of Arm's IP to support virtual platforms and early firmware/software development.

We are seeking a Senior Fast Models Architect to drive the evolution of Fast Models technology, contributing to one of Arm's most critical software ecosystems.

Responsibilities
  • Stay up to date with Arm architecture developments and assess their impact on Fast Models.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to review and refine engineering proposals and designs.
  • Analyse the Fast Models codebase to identify opportunities for scalability, performance, and interface improvements.
  • Work with the Technology Manager and Domain Architect to analyze product requirements and set priorities for Fast Models technology.
Key Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates with the following expertise:

  1. Expertise in C/C++ with a strong understanding of computer architecture and System-on-Chip (SoC) internals.
  2. Experience developing SoC virtual prototypes using C/C++/SystemC/TLM.
  3. Strong background in system-level architecture, including cache hierarchies, memory management (SMMU), and interrupt controllers.
  4. Experience with processor and SoC modelling tools, such as Fast Models, QEMU, Simics, or Gem5.
  5. Proficiency in software development, including debugging, scripting, and version control (Git/Gerrit).
  6. Ability to lead technical initiatives, collaborate across teams, and drive innovation in modelling technology.
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
  • Experience in low-level/bare-metal software, firmware, or device driver development.
  • Previous experience in complex software projects within a large multi-site team.
