Senior Data Analyst - Biotechnology

Location: Oxford, UK

Salary: £50-65k basic

Job Description:

Our client, an innovative biotechnology company is looking for a talented Senior Data Analyst to join their dynamic team dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge technology and data analytics to revolutionize healthcare and improve lives globally. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven decision-making processes within our organisation. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in extracting insights from complex datasets, guiding strategic decisions, and driving the advancement of our research and development efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyse large-scale biological and clinical datasets.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams including researchers, bioinformaticians, and software engineers to design and execute data-driven experiments and analyses.
  • Develop predictive models and algorithms to support drug discovery, biomarker identification, and clinical trial optimisation.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and compelling data visualisations, reports, and presentations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data analysis best practices, ensuring accuracy, reproducibility, and scalability.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in data analytics, biotechnology, and healthcare to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

About you/key experience: Top of Form

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or a related field. PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation techniques.
  • Experience working with diverse biological data types such as genomics, proteomics, or imaging data is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering impactful data analysis projects in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
