MTR Elizabeth line’s People team are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and diligent Training Support Assistant on a permanent basis.

Working in the Learning, Engagement & Inclusion team within the wider People Function, the Training Support Assistant will take on a range of tasks and activities to support the development of individuals across MTREL in line with our culture and values.

Reporting directly into the Training Support Manager, the Training Support Assistant will support the team with a range of administration, planning and support activities including maintenance and development of the Learning Management System, planning, sourcing, and booking internal and external training courses.

As the post-holder you will become the front-line liaison for the Learning team to the wider business, working with the team to review and implement processes and procedures to ensure alignment and consistency across Learning, Engagement & Inclusion within MTREL.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills will be key as you work closely with other members of the People team to help coordinate managers workshops and conferences, projects and initiatives within the different business areas. Alongside working closely with the IT and HR departments to successfully on-board new starters into the business.

Person Specification and Practical Experience

To be considered for the role you will need to show demonstrable experience of the following:

  • Able to work on own initiative making decisions and managing own workload
  • Well-developed communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels internally and externally
  • Experience of working unsupervised to achieve tasks
  • Experience in taking a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Experience in investigating problems and analysing performance data in order to make reasoned improvement recommendations
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft and database management, especially Excel
