Job Description: As the Head of Exam Boards Officer in our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school located in Birmingham, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating all aspects of the examination process for our students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the administration of all internal and external examinations, including GCSEs, vocational qualifications, and assessments tailored to students with SEND.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external exam boards to ensure that appropriate accommodations and support are provided to students during examinations.
  • Developing and implementing robust examination policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Managing examination timetabling, logistics, and resources, ensuring that examinations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Providing guidance and support to students and families regarding examination processes, deadlines, and access arrangements.

  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the examination process.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with stakeholders including students, families, teaching staff, and external exam boards.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, anticipating challenges and implementing effective solutions.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusivity and equality, ensuring that all students have equal access to examination opportunities and support.
