Digital Transformation

  • Lead on the promotion and implementation of digital-technology (1:1 iPads for learning) with both students and staff;

  • Develop and implement a school-wide vision for digital education across all areas;

  • Work alongside the Continuous Professional Learning (CPL) Lead to develop and implement a training plan that allows all staff to successfully embed digital technology within their practice;

  • Lead CPL to ensure the effective use and development of digital technology throughout the school;

  • Work alongside the Teaching and Learning Lead to identify opportunities to enhance teaching and learning through the use of digital technology.

  • Promote the confident adoption of new devices, applications and software by both students and staff;

  • Ensure that all staff can use digital tools to organise, plan and reflect on their practice; record learning events / data and use them for self-analysis, reflection and showcasing of achievement; monitor their own progress; participate in digital assessment and offer digital feedback;

  • Advocate for the use of AI and associated technologies in order to support issues related to staff wellbeing and workload.

Wider School Leadership - Qualities and Knowledge

  • Work with leaders, staff and Local Advisory Board (LAB) to ensure that the school’s vision and ethos are clearly articulated, shared, understood and acted upon effectively;

  • Be a dynamic and supportive member of Leadership Team, working with leadership colleagues to lead and manage the strategic development of learning and teaching throughout the school;

  • Inform and advise colleagues, governors, parents and carers about national and local policy developments that affect the postholder’s areas of responsibility;

  • Work with the community to translate the school’s vision and ethos into clear strategic objectives that promote and sustain school improvement and achieve the highest quality educational provision;

  • Motivate and work with others to create a shared culture and a secure, caring, stimulating and challenging learning environment;

  • Continually review the work and organisation of the school;

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum provision in light of student need and national and local priorities;

  • Promote a culture of teamwork, in which the views of all members of the school community are valued and taken into account.

  • Consistently meet to a high standard the requirements outlined in the Teachers’ Standards.

Wider School Leadership – Systems, Processes and General

  • Contribute to developing and upholding overall ethos/aims of the school;

  • Ensure that there are good working relationships among all members of the school community through effective communication;

  • Treat people equitably and with dignity and respect to create and maintain a positive culture;

  • Attend, plan, organise and chair meetings as appropriate;

  • Support the leadership team in the recruitment and retention of high-quality staff and undertake safer recruitment training as appropriate;

  • Take responsibility for and monitor the performance and professional development of colleagues, to ensure support is provided to pupils in a way that is designed to sustain raised achievement;

  • Develop action plans in specified areas of responsibility, in order to bring about improvements in a range of areas of our work;

  • Uphold the school’s staff code of conduct;

  • Contribute to effective behaviour management strategies that enable staff to consistently meet the high expectations of the school;

  • Contribute to the development of a curriculum and school experience which provides students with opportunities to enhance their learning within the wider community.

  • Participate in training, other learning activities and performance development as required.

  • The post holder is required to be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.

  • The post holder has a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and vulnerable adults during the course of their work. This post requires the post holder to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
