With over 15 years’ experience in construction, joinery and shopfitting and a mission to be the number one preferred contractor, making them head and shoulders above others in the construction field. Due to steady growth of our business, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to be based out of their Wigan office.
Although travel throughout the UK will be required on a frequent basis, as the contracts dictate. The Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for projects, managing the project costs from Pre-Construction through to completion and reporting to the Managing director.
Key task attributes for the Quantity Surveyor will be, to have a knowledge and experience in, fit out, retail and commercial build, and to carry out the following duties and to assist a team with the following: The project build cost achieved to the budget. All contractual notices to Sub-Contractors issued on time. All Sub-Contract packages commenced on time as a result of timely placement in line with project delivery targets. Instructing sub-contractors and supplier orders,
• Financial monitoring of projects,
• Preparation of valuations and final accounts,
• Monitoring of projects and measured term contracts.
• Pricing additional and varied works. Administration of construction contracts.
You will need to be flexible and willing to spend time in other offices and sites. This is to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients.
• Be prepared to work away from home when required.
• A full UK driving licence is essential.
• Financial and numeracy management skills.
• Excellent ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint are essential.
• Comfortable liaising with colleagues and clients to ensure all project requirements are met.
