Senior Planning Lawyer

Venn Group's specialist Legal team is collaborating with a highly regarded Local Authority in Bekshire, celebrated for their excellent team culture. They are looking to recruit a dedicated and experienced Senior Planning Lawyer to join their dynamic team.

Role Overview:

  • Position: Senior Planning Lawyer
  • Employment Type: Full-time
  • Contract Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)
  • Location: Predominantly remote with mandatory monthly attendance at Planning Application Committees

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, timely, and comprehensive legal advice and services to planning, highways, regulatory clients, and elected members
  • Provide legal counsel on corporate, constitutional, and administrative matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and protect the Council's best interests
  • Draft and negotiate complex S106 agreements
  • Serve as the legal advisor to the Planning Applications Committee (in-person attendance required once a month)
  • Participate in regular client meetings to discuss current and future planning and regulatory matters
  • Supervise trainee solicitors
  • Offer strategic planning enforcement advice

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualified Lawyer, Solicitor, or Cilex Qualified
  • Proven experience in local government
  • Expertise in Planning and Highways law
