Principal Mechanical Design Engineer - Data Centre?
Location: Edenbridge, Kent
Salary: Up to 70,000 + 10% Annual Bonus

Our client are a leading engineering consultancy based in Kent, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. With a diverse portfolio that includes commercial, data centre, industrial, and residential projects, they are excited to announce their recent success in securing a high profile data centre project in London. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled engineer to play a pivotal role in delivering high-profile projects and shaping the future of their engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring high standards of design, quality, and efficiency.
Oversee and coordinate the work of a team of engineers and designers, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
Develop detailed mechanical designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications.
Participate in project meetings, presenting design solutions and progress updates to clients and senior management.
Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals, contributing to the growth and success of the business.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our design processes and solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Chartered Engineer status (CEng) is preferred but not essential
Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with a focus on commercial, data centre, industrial, and residential projects
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex engineering projects
Strong knowledge of relevant design standards, codes, and regulations
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
