Job Description

Purpose of Role:

Reporting to the Golf Manager, the purpose of this role is to be responsible for the golf events business by conducting and co-ordinating the golf events experience from enquiry to event whilst delivering a 5* service. Providing a seamless level of service throughout the process and working closely with the operations team to ensure expert delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the golf industry and an interest in further developing their skills and career.

At the heart of the role is customer service. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering first-class customer service across all aspects of the role and business.

Moor Park

Founded in 1923 Moor Park Golf Club boasts two Harry Colt designed championship courses with a spectacular Grade 1 listed clubhouse. Playing host to Open Qualifying, PGA Professional Senior Championship and London Amateur Foursomes in 2024. Set within three hundred acres of parkland to the south-east of Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire 30 minutes from central London, the Club has a thriving membership of 1,500. With 13 tennis courts, lavish dining rooms and beautiful grounds, Moor Park is far more than just a golf club. It is a home for members, and a destination for visitors.

Job specification

  • To be responsible and accountable for the golf events business by conducting and co-ordinating the golf events experience from enquiry to event whilst delivering a 5* service, a positive experience and a targeted business return.
  • Responsible for enquiry handling, proposals, inputting all client communication on the system, delivering show rounds, contracting, coordination and planning of events.
  • Communicate with other departments through the user systems i.e., ESP and excellent verbal and written communication to ensure event detail is passed on efficiently to ensure the events run smoothly
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with clients.
  • Organise, chair, and deliver weekly operation’s meetings alongside the events coordinator with all necessary departments to ensure the successful delivery of all external events.
  • Responsible for all open competitions, including set up, taking bookings, communication, coordination, planning and execution of the event.
  • Create a bespoke offering of branded merchandise and contact event organisers with options and ensure proper presentation and distribution of prizes during award ceremonies.
  • To assist the golf operations team in coordinating and successfully organising group events from arrival to departure.
  • Responsible for planning all member matches which take place at Moor Park throughout the season.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans for promoting experiences in an engaging and effective manner.
  • Foster strong relationships with members, guests, suppliers and other stakeholders to maximize business opportunities.
  • Research and develop new partnerships and commercial opportunities to grow golf sales.
  • Maintain detailed sales trackers and produce monthly sales reports and forecasts.
  • Host client events, attend trade shows and site meetings when required.

General

  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation/good practice guidance including GDPR, equal opportunities and security of financial data.
  • To establish industry best practice to all areas of the Club’s activities and play a pivotal role in delivering the Club’s operational, financial, and strategic goals.
  • To maintain a professional standard of dress and appearance, in line with company standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work area.
  • To adhere to all statutory requirements regarding fire, health, safety and hygiene.
  • To attend any training sessions as requested and adhere to company policies.
  • Support colleagues in delivering a high standard of customer service.
  • Carry out any additional duties as reasonably requested by the management team.
  • Promote Moor Park in a positive light at every opportunity.

Required skills / qualifications for this role:

  • Excellent communication & organisational skills
  • IT Literate: Word, Excel, ESP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage varied workload and meet objectives
  • A creative mindset with ‘can do’ attitude
  • Previous experience within golf or member club environment
  • Familiarity with Golf Specific systems
  • Experience of Corporate / Group / Society Golf Coordination
  • Ability to cope under pressure from internal / external customers

Remuneration, benefits and hours of work:

  • 40 hours per week, ensuring flexibility and work-life balance.
  • 5 days out of 7 days, weekend work may be required
