Hybrid - Earlsfield / 3 Days in the office required

Main duties & key responsibilities:

Strategic Planning :

Develop and execute a comprehensive technology delivery strategy that is aligned to the goals and objectives for the client and to ensure that their technology initiatives contribute to successful business outcomes.

Team Leadership :

Lead and inspire cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation. Provide clear direction and mentorship to drive a high-performance culture.

Project & Portfolio Management :

Oversee end-to-end project delivery, from initiation to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Implement best practices in project management and agile methodologies.

In collaboration with colleagues in Finance, develop structured business case templates and financial models for Return on Investment (ROI) planning across the portfolio of Technology projects and investments.

Stakeholder Management:

Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of technology initiatives with business needs.

Effectively communicate project progress, milestones, and challenges to key stakeholders, including colleagues in Technology, business stakeholders and the Executive team.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges in project delivery and develop strategies to proactively address these risks to minimise disruption to project outcomes.

Resource Management :

Efficient management and allocation of internal and external resources to maximise the value of our investments and to optimise the business outcomes achieved.

Develop, manage, and track project and portfolio budgets and spend ensuring overall adherence to financial constraints.

Quality Assurance :

Implement robust quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions that meet the defined business outcomes and comply with relevant industry regulations and standards.

Professional Requirements and Competencies

  • 5 to 8 years proven experience in technology project and portfolio management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex change programmes and a demonstrated progression of responsibilities and leadership roles.
  • Certification in Prince2 Agile Practitioner, MSP or similar
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships across an organisation and to influence senior stakeholders, colleagues and Executive teams to achieve desired outcomes without direct authority.
  • In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, agile practices, and technology trends.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align technology initiatives with organisational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be able to demonstrate a strong technical foundation, combined with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders - a technologist at heart, you will be technically conversant in current and emerging technology standards.
  • You will need strong soft skills to engage and influence at senior levels within the company and will be able to motivate, inspire and develop the wider Technology team. Solid influencing skills and a collaborative approach are key.
  • Experience of explaining technical solutions and customer benefits to non-technical teams and executives, helping them understand the Technology Vision and Roadmap
  • Capable of challenging, and being challenged, to ensure decisions are well founded and tested.
  • An eye for detail and uncompromising focus on the best possible outcome and customer experience
  • Ability, gravitas, and sensitivity to be able to appropriately push back on requests that could disrupt existing priorities.
