A bout this role:

Working in our Commercial Finance team, you will be supporting the Head Of Finance in business partnering the UK Logistics team, leading on forecasting, reporting and supporting the business to achieve its objectives. This is a 'hands-on' role, with the opportunity to provide deep commercial analysis and influence important strategic decisions.

You will be someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, has strong data skills and commercial awareness to understand and help influence a P&L. You will be working across a variety of Logistics and other stakeholders and you will provide insights that support decision making to maximise operational efficiency and cost optimisation for the UK business.

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:
  • Key Finance partner to the UK Logistics team driving stakeholder accountability and support in the delivery of strategic and financial objectives
  • Lead in budgeting and forecasting processes for key logistics KPIs (in particular courier pay and optimisation) providing appropriate challenge
  • Manage one direct report, providing direct coaching and development plans
  • Provide timely reporting and insightful analysis on key strategic initiatives
  • Support the development, implementation and management of key projects
  • Proactively seek out new ways to drive enhance profitability through process improvements
  • Optimise reporting of key KPIs through automation
  • Support and liaise with Group functions on Logistics Financial requests
  • Ensure and advocate for a robust control environment across the business
What will you bring to the table?
  • Qualified with ACA /CIMA/ACCA, 3-4 years PQE
  • Strong in Excel and financial modelling
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis tools (Tableau, PowerBI) is preferred but not essential
  • Enjoys working with data and comfortable dealing with messy unstructured data
  • Understands how to automate repetitive problems and tasks
  • A confident self-starter with the ability to think strategically
  • Deliver reports, analysis and insights that drive operational excellence
  • Incrementally improves processes and consistently advances techniques and abilities
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to multitask, work to tight deadlines and prioritise competing demands
  • Ability to use your drive, creativity and initiative to move the operation forward
