Early Years Educator Apprentice Errington Primary School
We endeavour in all we do, to provide rich experiences that provide awe and wonder – triggering interests and ideas that further develop through their education and into adult life. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
30pm, Monday to Friday, term time only
Level 3 (A level)
To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 2-5 years.
· To ensure that the classroom is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
· Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and ensure children’s work and achievements are displayed. To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, at all times.
· Maintain an engaging environment, both indoors and outdoors. To plan engaging and well-pitched daily lessons and inputs in accordance with the early years curriculum.
· Plan support, themselves and the apprentice, so that it is used efficiently to support the children.
· To support developing partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.
· To plan inclusive lessons / activities that provide particular support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
· Be aware of and support difference and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
· Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress, problems etc.
· Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
· Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
· Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
· Provide feedback to pupils / parents in relation to progress and achievement.
· Changing when necessary, supporting toilet training.
· Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
· Contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
