For our "IT Operations" division we are looking for a

Head of department (m/f/d) IT Production

The position can be based at our offices in Darmstadt, Gießen, Kassel or Fulda. This position is a full-time position, which is in principle divisible.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Cooperative management of the assigned employees
  • Responsibility and organization of the Hosting / Housing business unit
  • Strategic orientation of the data center
  • Planning and implementation of technology projects
  • Development and implementation of an organizational unit strategy
  • Development of new service offerings
  • Development of concepts for economic / technical issues
  • Preparation and content design of tenders
  • Preparation of and compliance with the specifications in the business plan
  • Collaboration on company-wide and complex tasks as well as processing special orders from management
  • Responsibility for preparing the specialist department for ISO 27001 certification in accordance with BSI
  • Basic protection and ISO 9001:2015 quality management

The level of payment is based on a salary up to EG 14 TVöD (VKA) and will be subject to a final individual assessment and personal qualifications.

What you bring with you
  • Degree in computer science / administrative informatics / business informatics or a three-year degree
  • Training in the field of IT or administration with additionally acquired skills and

  • Relevant professional experience with personnel responsibility
  • Several years of in-depth experience in the entire network environment (switching, routing, proxy
  • Firewall, LDAP) as well as the connection of external locations (WAN, VPN, MPLS, VolP)
  • Several years of experience in the entire server and storage environment (cloud, virtualization of
  • servers and storage; backup)
  • Knowledge in the management of projects
  • Knowledge of the organization and processes of the customer's area of responsibility
  • Knowledge of different IT platforms and IT operating methods
  • Analytical and conceptual skills
  • A confident demeanor paired with a high level of negotiation skills and a

  • Ability to recognize problems, describe and implement solutions
  • Very good knowledge of German and English
  • Class B driving license
