Job Profile:
- Collaborate effectively with a diverse team to define product specifications in a cost-effective manner, meeting market requirements, and minimizing product diversity.
- Generate three-dimensional designs and concepts for products, employing your creative and technical expertise.
- Work closely with external suppliers to identify and implement effective solutions.
- Create accurate technical drawings for purchased and manufactured components, ensuring compliance with BS EN ISO 9001.
- Facilitate product “mock ups” for approval, ensuring seamless progression from concept to production.
- Conduct in-house structural testing to ensure product design adheres to required standards such as BS6222: Part 2: Level H.
- Develop precise bill of materials and comprehensive product specification documentation.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external customers, addressing inquiries about product design and functionality.
- Identify opportunities for product design improvements, contributing to our continuous innovation efforts.
- Assume project management responsibilities, overseeing project flow across all relevant departments.
- Act as a key knowledge holder for projects, offering guidance and support to resolve any problems or questions.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical and quality issues promptly.
- Design and document internal and external product-related data, including instruction sheets, manufacturing specifications, and fitting instructions.
Requirements:
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to successfully deliver projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages.
- Experience of AutoCAD and Inventor Software, desirable.
- Ability to thrive and resolve problems effectively under pressure.
Preferred, but not essential:
- Comprehensive understanding of the AS400 system.
- Knowledge of regulations pertaining to furniture design and COSHH regulations.
- Familiarity with Lotus Notes databases.
- Knowledge of furniture design and component parts.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical engineering qualification
Previous Experience
- Experience in working with figures and/or complex data
- Knowledge of Construction / KBB Industry.
