Job Role: Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Contract


Hours: Monday to Friday


Job Type: Contract Role


Interaction Technical have partnered with a global industrial and energy company on their search for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer on a temporary basis for their site based in Stewartby, Bedfordshire until September 2024. Hands-on commissioning of electrical components and systems such as, transformers, high and low voltage switchgears, DC systems, rectifiers, inverters, etc.


· Carrying out testing on electrical systems and equipment, as well as system optimization and troubleshooting and filling-in the respective commissioning documentation and protocols


· Cooperation with internal team members, guidance and coordination of external partners and sub-contractors, interacting with customers.


· Ensure all the activities conducted on site follow the correct process in accordance with project requirements and in strict compliance with all EHS requirements.


· Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis / Work Authorisation / Confined Space / Hot Work Permits.


· Authorised for planning and executing LV isolations.


· Coordination of all necessary activities with all involved parties, such as commissioning team, erection team and sub-contractors


· Lead a team of Electrical technicians and co-ordinate their activities.


· Participation in the walk-downs for Turnover from construction to commissioning, identifying open items that prevent system start-up.


· Preparation and update of the commissioning procedures to be conducted on site.


· Provide theoretical and practical training to customer personnel.


· Report to the Lead Electrical Engineer, the Commissioning Manager, and the Head of Commissioning where necessary
Minimum 5 years experience within power station electrical commissioning activities (essential)


· HND / HNC in Electrical engineering (essential)


· Knowledge of electrical regulations and construction industry standards (essential)


· Previous experience surrounding electrical engineering with the construction industry (advantageous)


· Full UK Driving License
