Salary

Range £54,000 to £57,713 per annum

Job Purpose

Support the delivery of the relevant APU performance objectives with respect QESH, Cost Management, budget delivery, Engineering Reliability and Compliance, Continuous Improvement, Housekeeping and Capability Development. This role is the driving force for APU improvement activity, operational trials as well as daily operational performance.

Core Accountabilities

Safety leadership: developing a culture leading to zero lost time injuries and the delivery of all elements aligned with business goals.
Analyse Customer Supply performance data and recommend appropriate actions to ensure continuous optimisation of service, product quality, OEE & through-put.
Work in partnership with the other APU leaders and Process Leads within site and cross site as well as other technical experts to ensure best practice is identified, captured, shared and implemented across the business.
Provide day-to-day operational support to the Shift Performance Manager as well as wider APU team members to enable the achievement of objectives and the delivery of the operational plan.
Act as a SME in APU operations supporting new starters, apprentices, graduates and APU line reports with on the job coaching and transfer of knowledge and skills.
Develop a people plan in conjunction with the APU people development plan supporting the build of capability within the APU.
Delivery of quality, environment, health and safety operational performance targets agreed in business and personal objectives.
Support the delivery of key process reliability measures and targets as agreed with the APU Leader.
Lead the APU continuous improvement plan and support the delivery of the APU PIP plan.
Support any capital funded projects within the APU
Lead of Defect Elimination (DE) processes with continuous improvement (CI) support for process related issues, DE outputs, and create action plans in order to maximise the capability of the operations of the site.
Chair and attend all operational reviews and support the delivery of daily lean management through tiered meetings as well as wiring processes and utilising visual management to promote the correct actions and behaviours

Skills, Knowledge & Competencies

Experience of successfully leading high performing technical manufacturing teams.
Proven record of effective problem solving/fault diagnosis.
Continuous improvement mindset with a manufacturing excellence focus.
Budget and cost management experience.
Good communication/coaching/influence skills.
Strong IT skills - particularly MS Excel.
Ability to organise and prioritise.
