Head of Quality and QP

The Head of Quality and QP will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of quality and safety. The individual in this position will be in charge of developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality management and loss prevention initiatives in order to safeguard pharmaceutical products, streamline operations, and minimise risks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and oversee a robust quality management system in line with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Establish quality policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure the consistent and compliant handling, storage, and distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Implement quality assurance programs, including audits and inspections, to identify and address quality issues proactively.
  • Monitor and analyse loss data to identify trends and root causes, and implement corrective actions to reduce losses.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security measures, such as surveillance systems and access controls, to safeguard pharmaceutical inventory.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant pharmaceutical industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure that the company’s operations comply with all applicable local, national, and international regulations.
  • Lead training programs for employees involved in quality control and loss prevention, ensuring a well-trained workforce.
  • Foster a culture of quality and safety awareness among all staff members.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) preferred.
  • Eligible to act as a Qualified Person
  • Extensive experience (8+ years) in quality management and loss prevention, preferably in the pharmaceutical or logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and quality standards (GDP, GMP).
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing quality management systems and loss prevention strategies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and logistics management is advantageous.
